Homeobox genes encode a DNA-binding domain of 60 to 63 amino acids referred to as the homeodomain. This gene is a member of the RAXLX homeobox gene family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Transcription factor that regulates gene expression in intestine. May participate in vitamin A metabolism most likely by regulating BCMO1 expression in the intestine. Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Similarity: Contains 1 homeobox DNA-binding domain.
