background: This gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. [provided by RefSeq]. Function: Integrin alpha-X/beta-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis. Subunit: Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Contains 7 FG-GAP repeats. Contains 1 VWFA domain. Subcellular Location: Membrane. The Jurkat(H) cells were incubated in 5%BSA to block non-specific protein-protein interactions (30 min at r.t.). Primary Antibody (green): FITC conjugated Rabbit Anti-CD11c antibody (bs-20689R-FITC): 2μg/10^6 cells; Isotype Control (orange): Rabbit-FITC IgG (bs-0295P-FITC). Blank control (black): PBS. Acquisition of 20,000 events was performed.
